Employee found dead at Westford ski area

WESTFORD, Mass. — Authorities are investigating the death of an employee of a Massachusetts ski area but say it is not considered suspicious.

A spokeswoman for the Middlesex district attorney says police responded to Nashoba Valley Ski Area in Westford at about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday for reports of a death.

There they found the body of a 70-year-old Townsend man who worked at the site. His name was not made public.

The ski area's general manager, Al Fletcher Jr., said in a statement that everyone who works at Nashoba valley is "terribly shaken" and said the man was "treasured" by both his family and staff.

No additional information was released by officials.
