PLYMOUTH, Mass. — Route 3 South in Plymouth was temporarily shut down around noon on Thursday for emergency repairs to a bridge, according to a spokesperson for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.
“MassDOT and contractor crews conducted temporary repairs to the bridge joint that were warranted on the bridge located on Route 3 southbound over Samoset Street in Plymouth,” the MassDOT spokesperson told Boston 25 News.
Drivers reported being stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic.
The spokesperson said the road was reopened as soon as possible. MassDOT and contractor crews are scheduled to return to the bridge Thursday night to perform permanent repairs.
