Doug Flutie, part of the national broadcast of Saturday's game between Boston College and Notre Dame at Fenway Park, donned the throwback uniforms BC will wear to honor the Eagles from the 1980s.
Under Armour, the school's official outfitter, released photos Tuesday morning of Flutie wearing the form-fitting uniforms designed in the style of the Jack Bicknell-era Eagles, a team led by Flutie that played in three consecutive bowl games from 1982-84.
The Eagles lost to Auburn in the 1982 Tangerine Bowl and Notre Dame in the 1983 Liberty Bowl before defeating Houston in the 1984-85 Cotton Bowl.
Flutie won the Heisman Trophy in 1984 as the best collegiate player in the country. He is the only BC player to ever win the award.
Boston College enters Saturday's matchup against Notre Dame a heavy underdog. The Fighting Irish, considered the home team at Fenway Park, will also wear alternate uniforms designed to honor the school's history.
