Dog stolen from Boston adoption shelter found safe

BOSTON — A dog stolen from the Animal Rescue League of Boston's Adoption Center has been returned after two months.

Two months ago, a potential adopter took a Pit bull named Nick out for a walk and never returned. ARL officials say the man left his ID with the staff, but never returned with Nick.

Adoption center officials say Nick is healthy and going great. They do say that he will undergo medical and behavioral evaluation and is not currently available for adoption.

On Tuesday night, a citizen called the MSPCA call center with a tip on Nick's location. Officials went to the location, found Nick and brought him safely back to ARL Boston.

There is no word on the search for the suspect.
