Police in Danbury, New Hampshire, posted to Facebook an extraordinary photo of a dog that was found after an apparent run-in with a porcupine.
The dog ran away from its owners last week.
Over the weekend, police posted the photo with hopes of facilitating a family reunion. In the pic, it is clear that the dog -- at some point before it was found by a Good Samaritan -- had an altercation with a porcupine.
The stranger took the dog to a vet, and it was reunited with its owner on Monday morning.
[ The dog, according to the New Hampshire Union Leader, is "doing well." ]
[ The Union Leader says police were told the quill-removal process took more than four hours. ]
