WORCESTER, Mass. - A Worcester couple has been living in fear since someone randomly shot arrows at their home.
Loretta Sclafani and her 70-year-old husband live at the Crowningshield Road home in Worcester that has recently become a sort of target practice for a bow and arrow enthusiast.
Sclafani claims someone has been shooting hunting arrows at her home and worries that one of the arrows could end up going through the windows.
"This is an assassin weapon, it would kill a child," said Sclafani. "My husband called it a weapon, he’s a Vietnam veteran, he said this is an assassin, they kill deer with this. It’s got razors on the sides."
Most recently, a neighbor spotted one of the arrows atop Sclafani's garage.
"I came home one day, and my mother had pointed out that there was an arrow in the roof," said Tom Lamarche, a neighbor. "Shame on you. Shame on you because, I don’t know if you shot it this way, and know how dangerous this is."
In total, three arrows have been fired at Sclafani's house, but only one struck the house.
"The next day, he found another arrow," said Sclafani. "Then after that, there was one in my yard."
The 74-year-old worries the arrows could potentially kill or seriously hurt someone.
"My great niece and her children and they are 3, and 5, this thing would go right through them, at that speed," said Sclafani. "It would penetrate a roof."
The family is asking the person shooting these arrows to stop as they're afraid of what could happen next. In the meantime, Worcester Police are investigating.
