TAUNTON, Mass. (AP) - Officials say a worker was killed at a construction site at a school in Massachusetts.
A spokesman with the Bristol County District Attorney's office says it happened Monday while the 48-year-old man was working on a brick chimney at St. Mary's Primary School in Taunton.
Investigators say he was on a platform when a boom lift fell over. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Occupational Health and Safety Administration is investigating. A spokesman told The Boston Globe that an inspection will seek to determine if there were any violations of workplace safety standards in connection with the incident.
NES Rentals, the company that owns the construction equipment the man was using, told WPRI-TV they are not releasing any information at this time.
