REVERE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com/AP) - Police arrested 9 people after a massive fight broke out at Revere Beach.
Dozens of police cruisers from surrounding areas made their way to the beach at about 6:15 p.m. Sunday in response to the large-scale fight that resulted in several road closures.
State Police Lt. Dan Richard says those involved in the fight were "pushing and shoving and throwing bottles." He says the bottles were likely plastic soda bottles.

Police say between 100 and 200 people were at the scene when the fight broke out among several individuals.
There are conflicting reports about how the fight began.
According to State Police, a group of people were drinking, bring unruly to nearby families and possibly smoking marijuana on the beach. When troopers went to confiscate the alcohol, police say that things got unruly and at least one person jumped on the back of a trooper. State Police said that they wouldn't even call the situation a brawl.
Revere Police previously said that the brawl began with girls fighting and then escalated when their boyfriends got involved.
Witnesses tell FOX25 that the fight actually broke out between the young people and police when police tried to confiscate a backpack with drugs.
No injuries were reported.
Richard says between 10 and 12 people were charged with disorderly conduct. They will likely be arraigned Monday at Chelsea District Court.
Officials are still reviewing surveillance video of the fight to see exactly how many people were involved.
Police say this is the third time in just a few weeks they've had to break up a fight at Revere beach. Officials say they're weary of what's to come, especially with the high school's senior skip day looming in the near future.
