BOSTON — Commuter traveling through South Station were delayed Tuesday afternoon. with some trains up to an hour behind schedule.
The delays impacted the Franklin. Needham, Providence and Framingham lines.
Riders took to Twitter to share images of crowded platform areas and trains.
Larger than normal crowds are expected to continue for several weeks, especially for trains heading west of Boston, because of construction on the Mass. Pike.
The Commuter Rail did not specify why the trains were delayed, other than to say equipment was late in arriving.
