Child has 'significant' injuries after being hit by car at Wellesley elementary school

WELLESLEY, Mass. — A child has been taken to the hospital after being hit by a vehicle outside a Wellesley elementary school.

According to police, the child was at the driveway to the Schofield School when a car turning into the parking lot hit them.

The driver, who is cooperating with the police investigation, was also hospitalized. Police said after their investigation that there is no reason to file any charges.

Police tell Boston 25 News the child was an 8-year-old boy who has "significant.” He was taken by medical helicopter to a Boston hospital.%

The boy has not been identified, but Wellesley school officials said he does not go tot the Schofield School. He is however a student in the district. %
