MILFORD, Mass. — There is chaos in the world. But sometimes it is a strangely well-ordered place.

Seven years ago, there was a fender-bender in Milford. Officer Paul Parisi responded.

“Lady got out of the car. It was obvious she was pregnant,” Parisi explained to Boston 25 News.

That pregnant woman was Renee Deans. Just two days later, her son, Quinn, was born.

“I didn't have anyone's number to call. My husband worked far away,” she said.

So Deans, nine months pregnant, got ready to walk home from the accident scene with bags of groceries in tow.

That's when Officer Parisi stepped in.

“[I] Put her in the car, brought her home, helped her put the groceries in the house,” he said.

Deans never forgot Officer Parisi's kindness.

“He didn't have to drive me home. He didn't have to carry my groceries inside. He just went that extra step that you don't always hear about,” she said.

We are hearing about it now because the baby in her belly that day has grown into a little boy obsessed with becoming a police officer.

Quinn used to wait for his older brothers to get off the bus in full uniform – until he outgrew it.

“Robbers can invade your house and try to steal all your stuff and you can call 911 and the police will come,” Quinn explained to Boston 25 News.

Last week, Renee and Quinn were at a park in Milford when Quinn saw a police cruiser nearby and asked to check it out.

“When I walked back, I realized who it was,” Renee said. “We were both a little grayer after seven years, so just to be sure I asked him his name.”

His name was Paul Parisi.

The reunion story got back to Milford's Police Chief Thomas O'Loughlin. He was touched by it all, especially the part about Quinn's desire to become a police officer.

So he made him chief for a day.

Quinn said he wants to be a police officer, “because they help people.”

They do.
