Chelmsford man arrested for allegedly breaking into 2 churches

CHELMSFORD, Mass. — A 20-year-old Chelmsford man has been arrested after police say he broke into two churches overnight.

Chelmsford Police say the Saints Vartanantz Armenian Church and the Trinity Lutheran Church were both broken into Sunday night.

Just before 8:30 a.m., an employee of Trinity Lutheran Church called police after seeing a man run out of the back door.

Police say he has also been charged with larceny of property over $1,200, malicious destruction of property over $1,200 and breaking and entering into a depository.

Police determined the same suspect broke into both churches and arrested Dakota Gladstone. Police say Gladstone is suspected of stealing food, office supplies and possible cash from the churches. He is charged with breaking and entering in the daytime with intent to commit a felony and breaking and entering in the nighttime with intent to commit a felony.
