Charges dismissed for boyfriend of Yale grad killed in crash

ORLEANS (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - The case against a man charged in the death of his girlfriend, a Yale University graduate, has been dismissed.

Michael Gocksch, 22, of Centerport, N.Y., was summoned to Orleans District Court on Thursday for a magistrate's hearing on charges, including motor vehicle homicide by reckless operation. Gocksch's attorney, Phil Tracy, told Fox 25 News that the charges were dropped.

Gocksch was driving when Marina Keegan, 22, of Wayland, was killed in the May 26 rollover on Route 6 in Dennis. The couple had graduated from Yale days earlier.

State police said at the time that speed wasn't a factor and both were wearing seatbelts. Keegan's father has said Gocksch fell asleep at the wheel.
