CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Police say they have found the driver who they believe hit a woman in her wheelchair then drove away.
The crash happened Sunday morning on Columbia Street in Cambridge as the 77-year-old victim was going to a nearby park to feed the pigeons.
Police said they believe a green or blue Ford Taurus from made between 1996 and 1999 hit her and kept going.
Surveillance video shows the car drive from the scene of the crash toward Inman Square in Somerville.
Employees of a nearby coffee shop said they would see the woman every morning on her way to the park.
“She seemed perfectly friendly, always passing good mornings, she’d pass by and talk to people,” Evan Fox said.
The victim is currently in the hospital listed in critical condition.
Cambridge police said the person they believe was driving that car is a Somerville resident who has not been identified.
