CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — A local dentist has pleaded not guilty to drug fraud charges and details from court are only on FOX25 News.

Maurice Zylber, 70, had been a practicing dentist for several decades. Now he's charged with prescribing narcotics to at least two employees with instructions to return the pills back to him.

Investigators from the Drug Enforcement Administration [DEA] said they have reports of violations from February 2007 through March of this year.

Patients tell FOX25 they are surprised by the allegations.

"It's very difficult to understand. I just find it really impossible to believe," Charles Teague said.

Teague told FOX25 he has been a patient of Zylber's for 30 years.

"He's just a wonderful person and he's actually just been a great dentist all those years," Teague said.
Zylber and a partner practiced at Pleasant Street Dental in Cambridge and Sparkle Dental in Dorchester.
