BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- The Callahan Tunnel will be closed overnight for construction Monday night, Tuesday night and Wednesday night.
The tunnel will be closed between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. Drivers on I-93 South will need to exit the highway at Exit 23 - Purchase Street, and will be detoured through surface roads to the Mass. Pike eastbound.
Vehicles driving from Haymarket will be allowed to enter I-93 South only and then will be directed to use Exit 23 and follow the detour.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is asking drivers to use a different route while the tunnel is closed in order to minimize traffic.
