HOPKINTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A high school bus driver accused of driving drunk with students on board is due in court today.
Robert Murphy, 59, of Ashland was arrested on Saturday outside of Hopkinton High School.
Police said he had been driving 25 members of the cross country team back from a meet when, during the ride home, a coach called police saying the driver may be intoxicated.
Authorities say a police officer met the bus as it pulled into the high school parking lot around 10:30 p.m., and Murphy was arrested after the officer conducted a field sobriety test.
Murphy was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol and operating to endanger. This is his third OUI arrest.
No comment as of Monday morning from the school or the bus company.
