BROOKLINE, Mass. — Two stabbing incidents in Brookline in two days have police doubling their efforts to keep the community safe.

Thursday night in the courtyard of 22 High St., where two teens were stabbed and a third young adult was slashed by a knife.

It happened just under Rev. Bruce Allen's window around 9 p.m.

“In 19 years, this is only the second really violent event to happen close to our building and most of the things are domestic which happen all around the world,” said Allen.

Police said a group of kids had been in the High Street area for most of the day and then more kids joined in, leading to a fight. Both victims are in serious, but stable condition.

Officers don’t think it’s connected to a Wednesday night incident, when a suspect mugged a dog walker at knife point, steps away from a senior care center on Vernon Street. The victim was stabbed three times.

Brookline police said crime was down 18 percent compared to this time last year, and two violent incidents in two days is an unusual crime wave for the community.

No arrests have been made in either case yet. If you have any information, contact Brookline Police.
