Bridgewater State student allegedly sent hateful messages on Tinder

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. — A student at Bridgewater State University is now the subject of a police investigation after alleged hateful messages sent through a dating app.

Elisabeth Philippe says it all started when she matched with a student at Bridgewater State on the dating app Tinder a little over a week ago. She said that student then sent her a message full of racial slurs.

"He messaged me randomly and he said the n-word to me. He went out of his way just to message me that, unmatched me," said Philippe.

The university says the remarks are appalling and they have launched a student conduct and police investigation.

Elisabeth sent the screenshots of the messages to her older sister. She posted them online and they got a big response from hundreds of people, including Bridgewater State.
