WORCESTER, Mass. — A Braintree prep school official was arrested Monday for allegedly agreeing to engage in sex for a fee.

Steven Bliss, a 44-year-old from Braintree, was arrested after a weeks-long investigation by the Worcester Police Detective Bureau.

Police say Bliss agreed to meet with undercover officers at a McDonalds in Worcester in order to exchange $200 for sex. When Bliss arrived at the location, he was arrested.

According to court paperwork, Bliss is employeed by the Cats Academy in Braintree. The prestigious boarding school has campuses overseas and tuition costs $16,000 a year.

FOX25 has learned Bliss was previously the superintendent at the Dover-Sherborn Public Schools, but resigned in 2015.

"The school district has not been contacted by law enforcement officials investigating these allegations but will certainly be fully cooperative should the need arise," Acting Dover-Sherborn Superintendent William H. McAlduff said.

A source tells FOX25 that Bliss has been put on leave during the investigation.

Bliss was charged with human trafficking and engaging in sexual conduct for a fee. No one answered the door when FOX25 went to his home. Worcester police tell FOX25 the undercover officer was not posing as a child.
