Boston Police seize guns, drugs in Dorchester

DORCHESTER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) - Boston Police recovered two guns, ammunition and marijuana in Dorchester Tuesday.

City Wide Drug Control Unit officers executed a search warrant as part of an active and ongoing investigation in the Withington Street area of Dorchester. Police said they found a Hi-Point Model C-9 9mm Luger, a Hi-Point Model 995 X-19 9mm Assault Rifle, 63 rounds of ammunition and 12 ounces of marijuana.

Police took Christoper Murphy, 44, into custody and charged him with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of an assault rifle, unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device, unlawful possession of ammunition and possession with intent to distribute.

Boston Police said that it has taken more than 520 guns off the streets as of Sept. 15, 2015.
