BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com/AP) -- Two Boston men convicted of luring a pizza delivery driver to a vacant home, where they killed and robbed him, were sentenced Wednesday to life in prison following tearful statements from the victim's wife and daughters.
Richel Nova had a wife and three children including a son and twin daughters. He was murdered for $140, two pizzas, and a box of wings.
In a Boston courtroom Wednesday, it was judgement day for two of the killers and the victims read their impact statements.
"I want to go back and talk to him more spend more time with him give him more hugs," Nova's daughter Marlene Romero said.
Nova meant the world to Marlene and her twin sister, Michelle. The last time Marlene saw her father was the day he dropped her off at college.
"As we brought things from storage we laughed and sang along to the radio as I organized my room, he took a nap on my bed since he was sleeping from working late and getting up early," Marlene said.
Nova worked three jobs to help his twins pay for college.
In September 2010, while delivering pizzas, he was lured to a vacant home, robbed, and then stabbed 16 times.
"The man that was tortured that night was not just a delivery man. He was my dad. He was my little old man," Michelle said.
The twins credit their father for their success and wish he was still alive to see it.
"Papi didn't get to see me graduate college, he won't be there for my wedding, he won't get to be the grandfather of my children, among so many other things in my life," Michelle said.
After the family spoke, the convicted murders 22-year-old Alexander Gallett and 24-year-old Michel St. Jean were sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
A third defendant pleaded guilty to manslaughter before the trial and got 20 years. Only Gallett spoke and told the family he was "sorry" for what he did and hopes they will forgive him.
