BOSTON — The Boston Globe Opinion is describing it as "the front page we hope we never have to print."
The Opinion editors said they went through Donald Trump's speeches, website, advisors and position papers and reported it out, making a mock paper what they believe will happen if Trump is elected.
"This was an exercise at taking Donald Trump at his word," said Deputy Managing Editor of the Editorial page `Kathleen Kingsbury in a video on the Boston Globe's Facebook page.
The mock paper is dated Sunday, April 9, 2017 and the top headline is "Deportations to Begin".
Kingsbury said they focused on immigration and trade tariffs.
"We want the Republican party, as they head to their convection this summer, asking themselves tough questions...we want the Republican Party to figure out how to bring honor back to politics in America," she said.
Trump responded Sunday at a campaign event in Rochester, New York.
"How about the stupid Boston Globe...the whole front page is a made up story. And that's really no different from the whole thing," said Trump.
People around the country are discussing the satirical paper, with Kingsbury appearing on many national news outlets to explain the reasoning behind the paper.
The Globe Editorial Board has endorsed Hillary Clinton for president.
