Bomb threat called into Swampscott High School, police search for suspect

SWAMPSCOTT, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Swampscott High School was evacuated on Thursday morning after a reported bomb threat.

School officials said that they were notified of the threat by police around 9:30 a.m. and students and staff were evacuated out of the building to Jackson Field. Administrators and police dismissed school for the day at 10:30 a.m.

Teams of bomb-sniffing dogs swept the school and nothing out of the ordinary was found. All activities besides the home football game were cancelled in the afternoon. School will be back in session on Friday

Authorities have issued a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for the threat.
