Hundreds of Boston Public School students perform in annual MLK Celebration

BOSTON — Boston Public Schools celebrated the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King with their annual “MLK Celebration” on Thursday at the Strand Theatre in Dorchester.

Performances from 12 Boston Public Schools included hip-hop, step, jazz ensembles, choral groups and more! Winners of the MLK essay contest were also featured.

The “BPS MLK Celebration” is free and Boston 25 News livestreamed the program for Boston school families. Reporter Crystal Haynes and host of “Boston’s Black History, Inspiring Our Future,” served as emcee for the live performance.
