HYANNIS, Mass. — Barnstable Police arrested a 23-year-old man who allegedly dragged an officer early Sunday morning.
At approximately 2:39 a.m., officers received a call regarding a suspicious car parked in a driveway on Phinneys Lane in Hyannis. The caller informed the 911 dispatcher that he did not recognize the car parked on his property.
When Officer Kevin Shaw and Officer Kristina Gustafson arrived at the property, they saw the driver, 23-year-old James Ledoux of Marston Mills, unconscious.The car’s doors were locked and the transmission was in reverse while Ledoux’s foot was on the brake.

According to a press release, the officers made numerous attempts to wake Ledoux, but he did not respond. They feared he was having a medical emergency and Officer Shaw broke the passenger window, reached in, and unlocked the car’s doors.
When Officer Gustafson tried to place the vehicle in park, Ledoux took his foot off the brake and the vehicle began rolling.
Gustafson was dragged by the vehicle and her foot was run over as the car continued moving down the driveway.
Shaw was able to steer the car away from the house and it eventually crashed into a parked truck.

Hyannis Resuce was called to the scene and Gustafson was transported to Cape Cod Hospital where she was treated and released with minor injuries to her foot and ankle.
The investigation revealed that Ledoux was not suffering from a medical emergency and he was intoxicated.
He was then arrested for OUI Liquor, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (Motor Vehicle) and Assualt and Battery on a Police Officer.
Ledoux was later bailed on personal recognizance.
