Attleboro to ban water use Monday

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) - Starting Monday, all sprinkler use is prohibited in Attleboro, effective 9 a.m.

The town said that due to the lack of rainfall and low reservoir levels, residents can only water by hand; underground and above ground sprinkler use is prohibited.

If residents use a well to water their grass, they must place a sign visible from the street that indicated "Well Water in Use."

The town said the restriction is in effect until further notice and more restrictions might be added if necessary. Fines for not following the ban is $25.00 for the first offense, $50.00 for the second offense and $200.00 for each additional offense.
