Attack victims ask judge to show leniency toward men who robbed them

BOSTON — Two Boston men attacked and robbed in New Orleans have asked a judge to show leniency to their attackers.

James Curran and Tim Byrne were visiting the French Quarter during a Unitarian Convention last June when they were attacked.

Byrne is still in physical therapy because of brain damage he received during the attack.

All four attackers pleaded guilty to second degree robbery.

In a letter read out loud in court Tuesday, the two pleaded with the judge about their attacker’s sentences.

They were sentenced from three to eight years in jail.
