Arrest made in overnight double stabbing in Haverhill

HAVERHILL, Mass. — A 21-year-old has been arrested for a double stabbing outside of a bar in Haverhill.

According to the Essex District Attorney's spokeswoman Carrie Kimball-Monahan, two people were stabbed during a fight outside of the Barking Dog Ale House on Washington Street in Haverhill after midnight.

A 28-year-old Lawrence man was flown to Boston with life threatening injuries. He is currently in critical condition.

A 30-year-old Salem, New Hampshire man was taken to Lawrence General with non-life threatening injuries.

Police arrested 21-year-old Hayden Delafuente and charged him with two counts of armed assault with intent to murder and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Delafuente is due to be arraigned on Tuesday. The incident is still under investigation.
