Armed men rob snow shovelers in Lawrence

LAWRENCE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Lawrence police say masked men armed with guns robbed two people shoveling snow and then a liquor store on Wednesday night.

The two men struck first at around 8 p.m. at 576 Haverhill St., according to an article in the Eagle-Tribune. One of the men fired his gun into the air. Police recovered two .45 caliber bullet casings at the scene.

Just a half hour later at 678 Haverhill St., two men held up Hamel's Liquors. Police believe the same pair were responsible for the earlier robberies.

A preliminary description of the men suspected of committing the robberies lists one as stocky and 6-feet 1-inch tall, and the other as thin, around 5-feet 3-inches tall.

Methuen police also think the men could be responsible for a nearby gas station robbery that took place Sunday night.
