Andover police release pictures of man they believe tied up teen

ANDOVER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) - Does this person look familiar to you? Andover police and a heart broken father are asking the public to help identify and find him.

Police think this man tied up a 16 year old girl during a home invasion.

“With respect to this I would ask everyone to take a close look at the picture. It's very detailed,” Steve Elberry, the victim’s father, said.

For nearly a month police have been trying to find this man. On July 31 this man may have broken into his home on North Main street in Andover. His daughter thought it was a repairman.

“She was watching TV, she got up, looked downstairs and there was somebody there,” he said.

Elberry says the man choked his daughter, left her bruised and thinking she was going to die.

“They struggled and he was able to win the struggle he had duct tape and duct taped her arms,” he said.

Investigators say the same man took off on foot and swam across the Shawsheen River where he broke into another home and left his wet clothes behind.

“He looks like the average Joe. Looks like everybody, he doesn't look like what I would expect,” Elberry said.

Police think this man went to a nearby fast food restaurant right before the attack.

“You have all kinds of weird thoughts through your head when something like that happens to your family,” Elberry said.\
