LOWELL, Mass. — An alligator was captured from the Lowell streets Sunday.
The Lowell Sun reported that a woman and her dog came across the roughly foot-long alligator at South Walker and Harding Streets. She called police, and animal control responded.
The alligator was easily captured, using a lasso to put it into a box.
The alligator didn't try to bite the dog, said the owner.
Police aren't sure where the animal came from. It is illegal to have an alligator or crocodile as a pet in Massachusetts.
