BOSTON — A Revere man drunkenly crashed his car into a construction zone in the Callahan Tunnel early Monday morning, state police say.
The crash is the fifth involving an alleged drunk driver and a work zone in Massachusetts this summer.
Police arrested Liam Stapleton, 38, around 2:30 a.m. Monday. They saw in addition to crashing into a sign board warning drivers of the closed lane. Police say he continued driving another 500 feet before stopping for police.
No one was injured in the crash, police say, but Stapleton has been charged with operating under the influence and marked lane violations.
Stapleton pleaded not guilty in court Monday afternoon.
