Brandon Sicard, 29 appeared in a Boston court charged with shooting up parts of Newbury and Fairfield streets.

Suffolk County Assistant District Attorney Colleen O’Neill explained what people heard.
“This witness stated he heard about 8-12 gunshots and saw the shooter holding a large black gun with an extended magazine,” O’Neill said.
Prosecutors said Sicard fired dozens of shots while chasing two other people.
It’s unclear why Sicard was shooting at the men but bullets took out business windows and damaged multiple cars. Police said they were able to identify Sicard because witnesses recognized him as the owner of Edge Luxury Eyewear on Newbury Street.
“She said she was 95 percent sure the person she had seen in the past at the sunglasses store as the same person she saw shooting the gun,” said O’Neill.

Sicard also lives on Newbury Street near the shooting scene.
Several people said Sicard could usually be found hanging out at his store usually on the front steps.
“I’m shocked because he usually seem like a cool chill guy outside,” one Newbury Street employee said.
“I would see him every day. He’s a hard worker from what I can see. I was really surprised. I talked to him every day,” a business owner said.
Sicard’s attorney told the court the 29 year-old is a Babson graduate and a a successful business man.
“He has absolutely no criminal record whatsoever,” the defense attorney said.
A woman who was in court for Sicard would not comment about the charges.
Boston police have not released much more about the other two who may have been involved in the incident.
Prosecutors only described them as two other suspects who appeared to be running from Sicard when the shots were fired.
Sicard will be back in court on August 18 for a hearing.
He is being held without bail until then.
