EVERETT, Ma. - Four people have been indicted in connection with a “violent assault” in an elevator at Encore Boston Harbor.
Attorney General Maura Healey made the announcement on Thursday.
Two men, 27-year-old Matthew Haley of Cambridge and 32-year-old Jose Mercado of Boston, were each indicted on one count of Assualt and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon. Haley was also indicted on one count of Assualt and Battery.
The fourth person, 20-year-old Leilani Reyes of Somerville, was indicted on one count of Impeding a Gaming Investigation.
An Encore employee, 24-year-old Brittany Dawson of Stoneham, was indicted on one count of Impeding a Gaming Investigation and Acting as an Accessory After the Fact.

According to Mass. State Police’s Gaming Enforcement Unit, video surveillance allegedly revealed the incident on the morning of October 23.
It allegedly shows the moment Haley punched a man in the face causing him to fall to the floor of an elevator. He then repeatedly kicked and stomped on the man’s head and body and Mercado joined in on the assault.
Reyes allegedly watched while Dawson held the parking garage door open from the elevator to aid in the escape and drove them away from the casino.
The victim and the four people charged were allegedly strangers.
The defendants will be arraigned in Middlesex Superior Court at a later date.
