BOSTON — Two of Aaron Hernandez's former friends took the stand Tuesday in the former Patriots player's double murder trial.
Tyrone Crawford and Je'rrelle Pieree were both with Hernandez in Florida around the time Alexander Bradley was shot. Hernandez traveled to Florida in 2003 for a Super Bowl party.
Crawford and Pieree both claimed not to remember much about that night. Crawford said he couldn't remember if anyone spoke about Bradley's absence in the hours after the shooting, confirming that drinking and drug consumption likely limited his memory. Pierre told the court his memory was limited after being shot and hospitalized in the years following Bradley's shooting.
A Palm Beach County crime scene investigator and detective, both of whom worked on Bradley's shooting case, took the stand next. The detective said Bradley wasn't very forthcoming in the case, leading the detective to shelf it.
Earlier Tuesday, it was expected that Hernandez's brother would be testifying for the prosecution, but it's unclear if he will be taking the stand. It was revealed Tuesday that the state plans to call Shayanna Jenkins, Hernandez's fiancee.
Due to ill jurors, Wednesday's testimony is expected to start at noon.
