FALMOUTH, Mass. — The Falmouth Fire Department says a 4-year-old child died after being pulled from the water at the Cape Cod Campresort and Cabins.

Emergency dispatchers were called at 1 p.m for reports the child had been removed from the pool and that CPR was already in progress.

The Falmouth Fire and Rescue team posted on their Facebook page asking people to  "please keep this young boy's family in your thoughts and prayers."

"We arrived and we just heard the mother yelling and crying. We saw her walking around and had no idea what was going on," said Sam Legeyt, a witness who had just arrived at the campground with his family.

The child was rushed to the Falmouth Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after.
