4 arrested in Roxbury raid

ROXBURY, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- The Boston Police SWAT team arrested four people during a raid early Wednesday morning.

The City Wide Drug Control unit and the SWAT team went into 33 Abbotsford St. around 4 a.m. and were immediately met with violent resistance, said police. Police allegedly struggled with several of the occupants. The primary target of the search warrant, 25-year-old James Hickey, was caught while attempting to escape the home.

Officers said they seized a a loaded silver Smith & Wesson .38 Special firearm with a wooden handle and a loaded black Ruger .22 caliber long rifle.

Officers arrested and charged Hickey with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, improper storage of a firearm and career criminal (level 3). Police arrested and charged Jonathan Sanchez, 25, for the same offenses, as well as assault and battery on a police officer and being a career criminal (level 1).

Officers also arrested 26-year-old Miguel Perez for possession with intent to distribute and 22-year-old Anthony Sanchez for assault and battery on a police officer.
