3 charged with prostitution in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) — Police in Portsmouth, N.H., say they have made three arrests in a prostitution ring they believe may extend from Manchester to Portland, Maine.

The investigation began with complaints about men arriving at a Portsmouth apartment complex in taxi cabs and being escorted to a particular apartment by different women for short periods of time. Officers set up surveillance on Thursday night and saw a man climb out of the apartment window holding a condom.

Twenty-two-year-old Jim Parra of Kittery, Maine, and 21-year-old Brooke Parent of Manchester were each charged with prostitution.

The apartment's owner, 38-year-old Alexander Marino was charged with one count of prostitution for allegedly allowing his apartment to be used for prostitution and one count of marijuana possession.
