BOSTON — The Red Sox will face the Yankees in the American League Division Series starting Friday night.
The two teams will meet in the playoffs for the first time since they played in the American League Championship Series in 2004, when the Red Sox overcame a 3-0 deficit to advance to the World Series.
The Yankees beat the Athletics in the AL Wild Card game to make it to the ALDS, where they'll play a five-game series against the Red Sox, starting with two games in Boston.
