PEABODY, Mass. — Two public school teachers have been found guilty of giving alcohol to minors.

John, 52 and Josephine Penza, 55, were sentenced to 30 days in prison for an underage party that was held in their home in August 2013. According to police, around 70 underage kids were at the party. A 16-year-old girl was found highly intoxicated in an upstairs bathroom and was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Mrs. Penza told the 16-year-old girl to tell police she was suffering from food poisoning, according to testimony at the trial.

Mr. Penza was an Everett High School teacher at the time. Mrs. Penza taught at a Medford Elementary School.
