2 people die after Brockton-Abington crash

BROCKTON, Mass. (AP) — Police say two women involved in a traffic crash on the Brockton-Abington line earlier this week have died.

A passenger car and a transportation van collided at what neighbors say is a problem intersection at North Quincy Street and Boundary Avenue.

Police tell The Enterprise (http://bit.ly/1cxoGaZ ) the driver of the car, 76-year-old Kathryn Cushman, of Holbrook, was flown to a Boston hospital where she later died.

Two others were injured.

One of her passengers, 75-year-old Betty Marini, of Abington, was taken to South Shore Hospital in Weymouth and has also died.

The crash remains under investigation and no one has been charged.
