NORTH READING, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) - Two men were arraigned Friday on charges of assault with intent to murder after an apparent dispute over a girl.
Brendan Donovan, 21, of Stoneham and Anthony Ferra-Tusco, 21, of Saugus are charged with beating three people with a crowbar and a hammer in north reading.
The men were arrested Wednesday.
Police say they went to an auto repair shop on Main Street around 2:20 that afternoon, beat up three people, and then ran off.
In court Friday we learned the suspects knew the people they attacked.
“It's our understanding from speaking with one of the victims who is here today as well as other information that we’ve obtained from the police department that the two individuals, the two defendants here today Mr. Donovan and Mr. Ferra-Tusco actually go to school with one of the named victims in this case, they’re familiar with each other. Essentially this fight was over a girl,” an attorney said.
The two men were held on $5,000 bail.
