BROCKTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Two masked teenagers are accused of breaking into a Brockton school Friday.
Police say the teens were armed with a crowbar, flashlights, rubber gloves, and candy bars. The duo busted into a community elementary school in the middle of the night at about 1:15 a.m. It's not clear what they were looking for, but they are in some hot water now.
Authorities were alerted of the break in at Brockton's Downey Elementary School when the silent security system was tripped. A K9 took over from there, finding the teens, in the act.
Police tell the Brockton Enterprise the youths were using a drill taken from a janitor's closet to try to break into a locked room inside the main office. Both suspects are 16 years old.
One was wearing an American flag wrapped round his face like a mask, the other a shiny, silver mask and they both were carrying backpacks.
And inside those backpacks, police say they found:
- latex gloves
- black crowbar
- flashlights
- candy
Now, people are wondering what they kids were after?
Grandmother Diane Porazzo said, "I cant imagine what they'd be after in the school. I mean I don't know how they'd get any money or anything, I'm not sure. Unless, they were headed for the nurses office or something."
The teens didn't get away with anything, but they did get arrested. Because they are juveniles, their names are not being released. However, both teens are facing felony charges related to this break-in.
