BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) - Sixteen lucky Boston students are preparing to make a pilgrimage down to Philadelphia to attend a mass held by Pope Francis.
The Pope is set to arrive in Philly on Saturday morning and the students from St. Joseph's will be attending the "World Meeting of Families" mass on Sunday afternoon.
Some of the students said this is becoming a tradition in their families.
“My dad met John Paul II in Boston,” Dante Salvucci said.
“My mom told me she met the Pope when he was a kid and she never saw him again so she really wanted me to take the opportunity while I have it,” Sharon King said.
The students say they hope to continue the tradition with their own families someday.
FOX25's Mark Ockerbloom will also be in attendance as the Pope makes his first visit to the United States. You can follow along with his reports starting next week.
