(MyFoxBoston.com) -- Expectant moms and dads-to-be are always told that once they become parents, their lives will change forever. A parent's sleep schedule, certainly, is one of those things that changes. But could fathers be faking sleep in order to get a better night's rest?
According to the Daily Mail, a study of 2,000 parents showed that more than half of fathers - 56 percent - have admitted to faking sleep to avoid getting up at night with a child, with 44 percent of those respondents saying they knew their partner would get up and go if they stayed in bed.
Roughly one in five fathers said that their child calls out for mom anyway, while others say they might avoid getting up if their child is having a specific problem, like teething or bed wetting.
Thirty percent of dads say they don't get up because they have work in the morning. Other popular excuses were that they just couldn't be bothered, or it wasn't their turn to go tend to the child.
But dads who skip out to sleep, beware: More than 40 percent of parents surveyed said that they have had arguments with their partner over who should get up.
