LAS VEGAS (MyFoxBoston.com) — Former NBA player Lamar Odom, ex-husband of reality TV star Khloe Kardashian, was hospitalized in Nevada on Tuesday night after two women found him unconscious at a legal brothel, The Associated Press reports.
Here's what we know so far:
1. Odom reportedly arrived at Love Ranch on Saturday. Dennis Hof, the brothel's owner, told the AP that staffers brought Odom there because he "wanted to get away, have a good time and relax." On Tuesday, two women checked on him in his room, where he was unconscious.
"We called 911, and the 911 told my staff what to do: turn him over on his left side," Hof told NBC News. "There was this terrible foaming stuff coming out of him."
Odom was taken to Desert View Hospital in Pahrump, then transported to Las Vegas' Sunrise Hospital.
2. Odom told employees that he had taken cocaine before his arrival at the ranch, according to the AP. Hof said Odom did not appear to be taking any illegal drugs at the brothel, but he was seen drinking Cognac and taking "herbal Viagra" called Reload 72-Hour Strong.
"He was taking a lot of it," Hof told NBC News.
Hof told the AP that the ranch has an anti-drug policy.
3. Officials are testing a blood sample to see whether any drugs were in Odom's system. Las Vegas police are conducting the test, but results may not come back for several weeks, according to the AP.
4. The Rev. Jesse Jackson, who visited Odom at the hospital Wednesday, said Odom's condition was improving. "Apparently, from what the doctor said, he was much better off today than yesterday," Jackson told the AP. "He at least has some responsiveness now. He's got tubes in him now, but we felt inspired by his presence."
5. Kardashian and Odom's childhood friends reportedly have been at Odom's bedside at the hospital. According to Fox Sports, Kobe Bryant also reportedly left the Los Angeles Lakers' preseason game early Tuesday to visit Odom. The official reason given for Bryant's departure was a leg contusion, or a bruise, but he actually left the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Vegas to see his former teammate, the outlet said. Joe Odom, Odom's "once-estranged father," and Jackson also went to the hospital, the AP reports.
6. Several celebrities and athletes are offering well-wishes online. Kris Jenner, Rob Kardashian, Dwyane Wade, Magic Johnson, Shaquille O'Neal, Miles Teller, Paul Pierce, Jonas Jerebko, Ariel Winter and the Miami Heat posted social-media messages in support of Odom.
7. E!, home to "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," said it won't be filming the family at this time. The network offered prayers to Odom, who appeared on the show and a spinoff called "Khloé & Lamar."
