Fox will enter the hit show in Episode 8, “My Bad Parts,” as Candace, Cookie’s spitfire sister.
Here are 10 things you didn't know about the popular actress:
1. She was born in South Bend, Indiana on July 30, 1964.
2. Fox includes her middle initial in her professional title. Her middle name is Anjanetta.
3. She was involved in many after-school activities including, choir, cheerleading, volleyball, track and basketball. In 1982, Fox played on the Indianapolis city championship basketball team.
"I'm so proud of that because we worked really hard," she said. "I wish we'd known then that we could go to the WNBA. But hey, then I probably wouldn't have become an actress."
4. One month after high school, Fox moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting opportunities. At 17 years old, her mother only allowed her to make the move under the condition that she attend school, which she later did at Golden West College in Huntington Beach, California.
5. After little luck acting in LA, Fox moved to New York to seek out modeling opportunities, but she returned to California after six months.
"My modeling career just didn't jump off," she told Ebony magazine in 1997. "Besides, I see myself as a West Coast girl."
She was later discovered by producer Trevor Walton while walking on Sunset Boulevard.
6. Fox first appeared in a television commercial for Clearasil.
7. She was executive producer of her own reality show, “Glam God with Vivica A. Fox,” which aired on VH1 in 2008.
8. Fox started dating rapper 50 Cent in 2003. The two have since separated.
