Hot start to the weekend

Saturday storms

We are on a Weather Alert today as we are forecasting the hottest temperatures so far this year. We’re calling for low to mid 90s from Boston to Worcester, including the north and south shore beaches. The Cape and South Coast will make it to the 80s with 70s for Nantucket and the Vineyard. The humidity will also be higher today, making it feel warmer. An isolated shower could be possible today, but most stay dry.

It will turn breezy Friday afternoon and night with a sustained SW wind at 10-20 mph and gusts 20-30 mph (strongest Cape). Something to keep in mind if you’re heading to a local fireworks display.

A front will cross the region Saturday with humidity peaking ahead of it. Some showers and storms could be possible in the morning, we will get some dry time as well. Some stronger thunderstorms could fire up along the approaching cold front in the late afternoon and evening. Be on the lookout for heavy rain, lightning and gusty wind.

Sunday still looks dry with increasing sun. The 4th of July looks nice too. Enjoy the holiday weekend!
