Boston 25 Weather

Cooling Forecast

We have a treat of a forecast for the next couple days. You’ll find cool 40s and 50s early this morning warming into the 60s this afternoon. Skies will average mostly sunny. The Cape and Islands will stay breezy with north winds 10-20 mph and stronger gusts.

You’ll definitely want a coat for the nippy weather Friday morning. Thin clouds will increase from south to north during the day. Overall it looks pretty nice!

Hurricane Ian made landfall in Cayo Costa (southwestern Florida) at 3:05 PM Wednesday as a category 4. Gusts over 100 mph were reported in that area with record high water levels in nearby Fort Meyers.

As of Thursday morning, Ian was downgraded to a Tropical Storms. Gusty winds, storm surge and a soaking rain will be focused over northeastern FL today. The storm is set to pull away from eastern Florida coast this afternoon and curve up towards South Carolina on Friday with substantial rain in the mid-Atlantic region.

The remnants of Ian are set to arrive in interior NC this weekend. Although far from New England, some tropical moisture linked to the system will likely reach us. That gives us a cooler, wetter forecast Saturday. The best chance for steady rain will develop south of the Mass Pike, though some models have rain getting up to the MA/NH border. We’ll keep you posted when the rainfall totals and coverage extent come into focus. Sunday to Monday will turn windy and wavy locally as we’re squeezed between Ian’s remnants and high pressure.
